Melanie Staggs is active in numerous philanthropic and nonprofit organizations. She has served and currently serves on the boards of various organizations, including the California Community Foundation, Baby2Baby and Harvard-Westlake School and runs an annual Thanksgiving food drive feeding over 10,000 through Big Sunday. She is the founder of "Thursday Night at the Movies," raising funds for food allergy research and education and currently serves on the National Advisory Board for the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford. Melanie is an advisor for Goodshop, an online coupon and shopping company that donates a percentage of every purchase to the purchaser's designated cause. She has also co-authored the early reader book "The Startup Club" intended to introduce children at a young age to basic financial and entrepreneurial concepts. She previously worked in corporate strategic planning and brand management for the Walt Disney Company and in new business development for The Disney Stores. She holds a BA in economics and an MA in international policy studies from Stanford University as well as an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is a lifetime resident of Southern California and the proud mother of three boys.
